Despite what Marcus Mumford may sing, Mumford & Sons definitely didn’t eff it up this time with “Little Lion Man.”
The band’s breakout single, which introduced the world to their banjo-driven folk sound, has officially passed 1 billion streams on Spotify, making it the first Mumford & Sons song to join the streaming service’s Billions Club.
“Little Lion Man” was first released in 2009 as Mumford & Sons’ debut single and appeared on the band’s 2009 debut album, Sigh No More. It hit #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart and was nominated for a Grammy.
Mumford & Sons have since released five more albums, the most recent of which being Prizefighter, which dropped in February.
