Kelly Clarkson takes her whiskey neat on cover of Hozier’s ‘Too Sweet’

Hozier‘s “Too Sweet” may have been his first #1 hit, but now it’s gotten perhaps an even more prestigious honor: getting covered by Kelly Clarkson.

The American Idol winner and pop star put her spin on “Too Sweet” for the latest Kellyoke segment on her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“I love that song so much,” Clarkson said of “Too Sweet.” “It’s probably just one of the reasons [Hozier] was invited as one of SNL‘s final musical guests of 2024. The other reason is he’s just bada**, he’s so cool, I love him.”

Hozier performed “Too Sweet” on the Dec. 21 episode of Saturday Night Live, along with a cover of The Pogues‘ “Fairytale of New York.”
