Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez has announced his own signature guitar.

The Jackhammer marks the debut instrument from Sanchez’s company, Evil Instruments. It’s named after a lyric from the title track off Coheed’s 2003 album, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3.

“As most of you know, I’ve played a Gibson Explorer for over 20 years,” Sanchez says. “Like any artist whose identity has become synonymous with a particular make and model, I have always longed for a signature model.”

“Since that hasn’t come to fruition, and keeping in line with my creative spirit and DIY methodology, I’ve chosen to create one from the ground up,” he continues. “A guitar that makes sense for me and is completely my own. We have developed this over the last couple years to meet my lofty aspirations… I present Evil Instruments’ Jackhammer.”

The Jackhammer price is set to start around $1,600. Preorder info is forthcoming.

Sanchez has also been busy prepping for the release of Coheed’s new album, The Father of Make Believe, due out March. 14. Coheed will also be touring throughout 2025 on treks with Mastodon and Taking Back Sunday.
