Never mind the bollocks, here’s Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys ghosting Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols.

Speaking to NME about the possibility of collaborating with the “Do I Wanna Know?” rocker, Jones shares, “He’s abandoned me!”

“He wanted to get together and write – five, six, seven years ago,” Jones says of Turner. “I was sick when he wanted to get together. He was with [The Last Shadow Puppets bandmate] Miles Kane and we were just gonna go over to his place, get together with some acoustics and fart around.”

Despite the writing session that never came to be, Jones has nothing but good things to say about Turner, who he calls “very talented” and a “great songwriter.”

“He’s got a good, sarcastic sense of humor and he looks great, too,” Jones says. “He’s a cool dude. I like the fact that he’s maturing. A lot of the original fans probably hate it because it might be too mellow or whatever, like on that hotel in space album [2018’s Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino].”

The Pistols, meanwhile, are continuing their reunion with original members Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock alongside vocalist Frank Carter in place of frontman Johnny Rotten. They just announced a show in London in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust, and Jones teases possibly bringing the reformed lineup to the U.S.

“I’m excited,” he says. “I know the dates, so I know it’s gonna be good.”
