Billie Eilish hit overtakes ‘Espresso’ as Spotify’s top streaming song of 2024

In December, Spotify announced that its most-streamed song of 2024 was Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso.” Well, in the streaming world it’s apparently easy come, easy go.

Variety reports that before 2024 ended, the Billie Eilish hit “Birds of a Feather” managed to surpass “Espresso” and capture the title of the most-streamed Spotify song. It was streamed over 1.775 billion times, versus 1.774 billion times for Sabrina’s hit.

“Birds of a Feather” peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and will compete at the Grammy Awards in multiple categories, including Record of the Year. “Espresso,” which peaked at #3, will also compete for Record of the Year.

In her annual Vanity Fair interview video, Billie revealed that in 2023, before her album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT even came out, she felt that “Birds of a Feather” would be the “real hit” from the album.
