In October, Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum said that the band was “kind of on semi permanent hiatus.” But bass player Billy Gould said in a recent interview he has no information about whether the “Epic” band will ever record or tour again.

When asked by Chile’s Radio Futuro if there will ever be a follow-up to Faith No More’s most recent album, 2015’s Sol Invictus, Gould said, “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know.” He laughed, “And you don’t have to believe me but … right now we’re in a really weird spot, a really strange spot, and I can’t really tell you what’s going on.”

He added, “I don’t know myself. I get different information from people, and I’m in the band.” When it was suggested that Gould is the one who “calls the shots” in the band, Gould responded, “Not really.”

The last time Gould and Bottum, along with Mike Patton, Jon Hudson and Mike Bordin, performed together was in October 2015. The band had planned to tour again in 2020 and 2021, but those dates were canceled, first due to COVID-19 and then due to Patton being diagnosed with agoraphobia. While Patton has since toured with Mr. Bungle, Faith No More never rescheduled those shows.
