Metric announces new ‘Romanticize the Dive’ album + North American tour

Metric has announced a new album called Romanticize the Dive.

The milestone 10th studio effort from Emily Haines and company is due out April 24. Lead single “Victim of Luck” is out now.

“‘Victim Of Luck’ and really the entire album is about the romance of a less than perfect life,” reads a post to Metric’s Facebook. “It’s about dropping the mask of self-consciousness and vanity. It was a long journey for me to get out of my own way and we want this song to be a rallying cry for that, better late than never.”

Along with the album news, Metric has also announced a North American tour alongside fellow Canadian bands Broken Social Scene and Stars. The outing stretches from June 8 in Austin, Texas, to Aug. 7 in Toronto.

Presales begin Wednesday at noon local time, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
