Primus officially has a new drummer.
After announcing an open call to fill the role left by departing member Tim “Herb” Alexander back in November, the “My Name Is Mud” outfit has announced that a drummer named John Hoffman will now man the band’s kit.
“Hoffington!!! Welcome aboard!” frontman Les Claypool writes in an Instagram post.
Hoffman, who hails from Shreveport, Louisiana, previously posted on Instagram that he’d auditioned for the position, writing, “It went as well as I could have hoped. Maynard James Keenan was sitting directly in front of me and watched my entire audition.”
