Radiohead has issued a statement after United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, used a choir recording of the band’s song “Let Down” in a post to its X account on Feb. 18.
“We demand that the amateurs in control of the ICE social media account take it down,” the statement reads. “It ain’t funny, this song means a lot to us and other people, and you don’t get to appropriate it without a fight.”
The band adds, “Also, go f*** yourselves.”
“Let Down” appears on Radiohead’s 1997 album, OK Computer. It underwent a resurgence in 2025 after going viral on TikTok, leading to its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 nearly 30 years after its original release.
Earlier in February, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood issued a statement requesting music taken from his score to the movie Phantom Thread be removed from the new documentary Melania about first lady Melania Trump.
