Popko is an award winning podcaster and radio host born and raised in NEPA. He started his career at a publication you may remember called the Weekender where he went from an intern to General Manager before leaving the publication in 2013.
After that, he spent some time in radio working for Rock 107 and Fuzz 92.1 later rebranded to ALT 92.1. In 2017 he launched the radio show called ALT-Natives on ALT 92.1 which featured music from artists from in and around NEPA until November of 2020. When ALT-Natives was put on hiatus, The Popko Project Podcast was born, which offers a long form conversational platform with entertainers from all over the country sharing their stories. You can check that out streaming on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, etc. Basically wherever you listen to podcasts!
Since then, Popko has returned to the airwaves with the relaunch of Fuzz (now Fuzz 96.1) and in addition to the podcast, hosts The Popko Project Radio Experience on Fuzz 96.1 highlighting artists from in and around NEPA.
His passion for our local arts and entertainment scene is second to none and nothing brings him greater joy than sharing the music and stories from the musicians who grace the stages in NEPA and beyond. Well, his family probably brings him greater joy, but you know what we mean!
Catch Popko slinging the best music coming from in and around NEPA every Saturday night from 9-10 p.m on Fuzz 96.1. (you can also catch him prior from 7-9 on Rock 107, NEPA’s #1 classic rock station).
